Encapsulation, 2023
Steel, labor, hardware
72 x 68 x 68 in
This work invites the audience to step inside, prompting contemplation on the nature of boundaries and their power to both confine and shield, confronting the dual nature of encapsulation, and blurring the boundaries between observer and observed. In this shared space, the dichotomy of encapsulation unfolds as a narrative of control, while also offering a sanctuary of nurture and protection. It then becomes a metaphorical cage, a visual representation of the psychological constraints that accompany the idea of home.
